Recently, the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (hereinafter referred to as "CAAM") announced the production and sales situation of the automotive industry in September 2025.

Data shows that in September, the production and sales of automobiles reached 3.276 million units and 3.226 million units respectively, with a month-on-month increase of 16.4% and 12.9%.

Notably, the production and sales of automobiles across the country in September broke through 3 million units for the first time in the same period in history, and the year-on-year growth rate has remained above 10% for five consecutive months.

Focusing on the passenger car market, data from CAAM shows that the new energy passenger car market performed better than traditional fuel passenger cars.

In the first 9 months, the sales of A00, A, and C class traditional fuel passenger cars decreased. In the new energy passenger car market, sales at all levels showed varying degrees of growth.

In terms of new energy vehicle sales, CAAM data shows that BYD ranked first among Chinese automakers in both September's single-month sales and the cumulative sales from January to September.

In September, BYD sold 396,000 units, an increase of 6.1% compared to the previous month, but a decrease of 4.9% compared to the same period last year; the cumulative sales from January to September reached 3.26 million units, an increase of 18.9% year-on-year. In the first 9 months of this year, BYD's market share in the new energy vehicle market reached 29%.

Key enterprise (group) sales situation CAAM

BYD official stated that the company has already completed 71% of its annual sales target of 4.6 million units.

Notably, BYD launched the "Tian Shen Zhi Yan" (Heavenly Eye) driver assistance system at the beginning of 2025, and is using this technology to promote the strategy of equalizing high-level driver assistance systems.

From the data, this strategy has shown good results.

By September, the cumulative sales of vehicles equipped with the "Tian Shen Zhi Yan" model have exceeded 1.7 million units, with 295,000 units added in September, and the domestic sales ratio of driver-assisted vehicles has increased to 91.3%.

It is reported that BYD is also continuously promoting its global strategy. In September, the overseas sales of BYD passenger cars and pickup trucks reached 70,851 units, an increase of 107% year-on-year.

Looking at the sales composition, the overseas sales of BYD accounted for 22% of the total sales in the first 9 months of this year.

As of October this year, BYD's new energy vehicles have been exported to 116 countries and regions, with passenger cars covering 110 countries and regions.

In addition, BYD has established production bases in six countries abroad: Brazil, Thailand, Hungary, Uzbekistan, Malaysia, and Cambodia. Among them, the factories in Thailand and Uzbekistan are already in operation.
