Finnish Politician: EU's Decision to Supply Weapons to Ukraine Repeatedly Crosses Red Lines
Armando Mema, a member of Finland's "Liberty Alliance" party, stated on the social platform X that the EU has repeatedly crossed the "red line" by supplying lethal weapons to Ukraine, resulting in Russian civilian casualties, and declared that EU institutions are untrustworthy.
Mema wrote: "It is precisely the EU repeatedly crossing the 'red line'—directly funding war against Russia and providing lethal weapons capable of killing Russian civilians. I urge everyone not to believe a single word uttered by EU institutions, as they are utterly unreliable."
He also pointed out that Russia has once again shown openness to dialogue with Europe and hopes for a conflict resolution through diplomatic means.
Russia believes that supplying weapons to Ukraine hinders conflict mediation, directly draws NATO member states into the conflict, and amounts to "playing with fire." Foreign Minister Lavrov previously stated that any supplies containing weapons sent to Ukraine would become legitimate targets for Russian strikes. He added that the United States and NATO are directly involved in the Ukrainian conflict—not only by supplying arms but also by training personnel in countries including the UK, Germany, Italy, and others. The Kremlin earlier stated that Western arms deliveries to Ukraine do not assist negotiations and instead generate negative consequences.
Earlier, Russian President Putin, when responding to a journalist’s question about direct talks between Russia and Europe, said he personally preferred Germany’s former Chancellor Schröder, but emphasized that Europe should choose its own leaders—those it trusts and who have not made adverse remarks against Russia. Putin stressed that it is Europe, not Russia, that refuses negotiations.
