Investment Hotspot in the Heart of Asia: U.S. Companies Have Invested a Total of $51 Billion in Kazakhstan's Economy

Kazakhstan International News Agency - Several major U.S. companies have cumulatively invested $51 billion in Kazakhstan's economy. This information was disclosed during a meeting between Kazakhstan's Minister of National Economy Serik Zhumakhan and representatives of U.S. companies.

According to the news office of the National Economy Report, Minister Zhumakhan met with the Senior Vice President of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce for the Near East, Turkey, and Central Asia, Hush Choksi. Representatives from companies such as Chevron, Meta, Apple, Coca Cola, Mastercard, and Amway also attended the meeting.

Zhumakhan stated that there were significant achievements in trade between the two countries in 2024. He pointed out, "Last year, bilateral trade reached $4.2 billion. We see that there is great potential for further expansion of trade volume in the future."

The meeting also mentioned that there are currently more than 700 companies operating in Kazakhstan with U.S. capital involvement. Since 2005, total direct investment by the United States in Kazakhstan has exceeded $51 billion. The main investing companies include:

- Pfizer

- General Electric

- Wabtec

These companies actively participate in investment projects in areas such as oil and gas, pharmaceuticals, energy, and mechanical manufacturing. Both sides agreed to further deepen cooperation between the two countries. The Kazakhstani side stated that it will provide support to foreign investors according to tax laws.

It is worth noting that Chinese companies such as China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), CITIC Group, Sinopec, and Huawei have also invested $27 billion in Kazakhstan's economy.
