Armenia officially applies to join the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, marking another adjustment in its foreign policy.

The Armenian Prime Minister, Pashinyan, who is the rival of the South Caucasus countries and the Turkic-speaking country of Azerbaijan, said that his country has applied to join the Shanghai Cooperation Organization

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that Armenia has formally applied to join the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).

Pashinyan said at a press conference in Yerevan, "Yes, we have applied to join the SCO. This aligns with our policy of balanced diplomacy."

Previously, the Armenian Foreign Ministry had also publicly expressed its willingness to join the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
