Tongyi News Agency, Ulaanbaatar, April 14 — According to the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources, a delegation from "Erdenes Mongolia" Corporation, led by Minister Gonchigdorj Damdinsuren of Industry and Mining, met with a delegation led by a vice president of South Korea's Hanwha Group on the 13th of this month. The Mongolian side expressed willingness to cooperate with Hanwha Group in the fields of renewable energy and green technology, and will support investments in these areas.
Minister Gonchigdorj Damdinsuren emphasized that Mongolia is committed to developing its industrial and mineral resources sector—from mining to processing. He proposed three cooperation suggestions, stating, "Both sides can collaborate in coal processing technologies, supporting renewable energy, and constructing industrial parks."
In the future, Mongolia will focus on reducing fuel consumption in mining projects, adopting green energy, and achieving equipment electrification. For instance, instructions have already been issued to mining companies under the "Erdenes Mongolia" group to increase the use of renewable energy and achieve equipment electrification.
Additionally, he mentioned that the international open tender for the steel industry complex project in Hongor District, Darhan-Uul Province, has been launched, and Hanwha Group is also welcome to participate.
