U.S. reveals costs of military operations against Iran

Washington, June 30 — RIA Novosti

Lars Vogt, Director of the White House Office of Management and Budget, stated that the United States has spent approximately $30 billion on military operations against Iran.

In May this year, acting Pentagon finance chief Jules Hirst had previously said that U.S. expenditures on military actions against Iran had approached $29 billion.

"We've spent about $30 billion," Vogt said during a congressional hearing when responding to related questions.

Previously, the Trump administration had requested an additional $87.6 billion in special appropriations from Congress, part of which is intended for expenses related to military operations against Iran.

Iran and the United States signed a memorandum via remote means at around 2 a.m. on June 18, agreeing to end the military conflict that broke out on February 28. The memorandum also outlined a timeline for the U.S. lifting maritime blockades, as well as arrangements for Iran to resume navigation through the Strait of Hormuz.
