EU Excludes Chinese Inverters: Can European Local Manufacturers Benefit?

The European Commission decided in May this year that large-scale solar and wind power plants will no longer be eligible for EU subsidies if they use inverters produced in China.

Currently, Chinese inverters hold a significant share of the European market; requiring clean electricity to use "made in Europe" equipment in the future could increase costs across the EU, and local manufacturers may not be able to expand their production capacity in time.
