The Government of Abay Region, Kazakhstan: China to Invest $2.5 Billion in Kazakhstan to Build Aluminum Smelter and Industrial Park

The Office of the Governor of Abay Region, Kazakhstan stated that the governor of Abay Region, Berik Vali, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Chinese enterprises regarding the implementation of a project to construct an aluminum smelter and industrial park with a total investment of $2.5 billion.

In a post on their own Telegram channel, the Office of the Governor of Abay Region wrote: "Today, Governor Berik Vali held a series of meetings with foreign investors in Beijing. During the talks, issues related to developing investment cooperation were discussed, and an MoU worth a total of $2.5 billion was signed."

During the meetings, Governor Berik Vali of Abay Region signed a cooperation memorandum with Mr. Huadong Yi, CEO of DDS Group. According to the agreement, DDS Group plans to build a 3,000-hectare industrial park valued at $1.5 billion in the village of Bakhdere. Additionally, Vali also signed an MoU with Liaoning Jacheng Holding Group Co., Ltd. and Xinjiang Sanbao Industrial Group to implement a project for constructing an aluminum smelter worth $1 billion in the Makanshi District.
