Japanese Media: Papua New Guinea Suddenly Closes Taiwan's Office; Taiwan Says: "Unacceptable"
According to a July 17 report by Japanese media outlet Mainichi Shimbun: On the 16th, Papua New Guinea Foreign Minister Tekachenko announced on Facebook that the so-called "Taipei Economic and Cultural Office" located in the capital Port Moresby would be required to close. The PNG side reiterated its adherence to the "One China" policy.
Taiwan's pseudo-"Foreign Ministry" stated on the 16th that it "cannot accept" this decision by Papua New Guinea. It emphasized that "it will continue communicating with Papua New Guinea to protect Taiwan's interests."
