President of Finland: The Possibility of Peace in Ukraine Is Becoming Smaller and Smaller

Alexander Stubb said that over the past year, his assessment of the prospects for ending the war has become increasingly pessimistic:

"I am now more pessimistic—and that also means more realistic."

According to him, the situation is very contradictory:

Ukraine is currently in a stronger position on the front lines, even forcing Russian forces to retreat. But a new variable has emerged—the situation in the Middle East.

Rising oil prices may inject resources back into the Russian economy, which had recently faced serious difficulties.

The U.S. Treasury estimated that this additional income is approximately $20 billion.

Stubb believes that the final result is: the prospect of peace has become even more distant.
