French media: Zelenskyy hopes the US will continue to work to end Russia's invasion of Ukraine
Ukraine - Ukrainian President Zelenskyy said on Sunday that despite the US currently focusing on combating Iran, he still hopes the US will continue to work to end Russia's invasion of Ukraine. The meeting between the two sides' envoys took place in Florida. This meeting was held after the US eased sanctions on Russian oil.
According to AFP, Trump's global negotiator Steve Witko reported that the two-day meeting achieved some progress, and the main topics discussed included building a lasting and reliable security framework for Ukraine and the top priority of humanitarian aid in the region.
Zelenskyy said in his speech that night: "It is obvious that the US's current top priority is the situation in Iran and its surrounding areas, but this war launched by Russia against Ukraine must also come to an end."
He added: "The whole world views this issue in the same way, and I am very grateful for the clear support of American society for Ukraine to achieve a normal and dignified peace."
Zelenskyy said he would talk with them after the Ukrainian delegation returned home and hoped that diplomatic efforts between the US and Ukraine would continue.
