Foreign media: The 2025 global power source ranking shows coal remains first with a 32.97% share, followed by natural gas at 21.77%, with fossil fuels collectively accounting for 57%.

Hydropower, at 14%, is the largest low-carbon power source, while nuclear power accounts for 8.85%. Solar (8.70%) and wind (8.50%) are developing rapidly, nearing nuclear levels, and their combined share has surpassed hydropower.

Despite record deployment of renewable energy, fossil fuels still dominate the global power system, primarily due to emerging economies in Asia's continued reliance on coal; meanwhile, falling photovoltaic costs and large-scale installations have driven rapid solar growth, and offshore wind in Europe and Asia have also expanded significantly.
