Foreign Media: According to data from Lloyd's Register's "2025 Global Top 100 Ports" database, Asia holds an absolute dominant position in the ranking of the world's 20 busiest ports, with all top 10 located in Asia.

China stands out particularly, with Shanghai Port leading the list with a throughput of 51.5 million standard containers, far surpassing Singapore's second-place 41.1 million containers. China occupies five of the top six spots, accounting for over 40% of global container traffic. Ningbo-Zhoushan, Shenzhen, Qingdao, and Guangzhou rank 3rd through 6th respectively, while Tianjin ranks 8th. South Korea's Busan ranks 7th with 24.4 million containers, and the UAE's Jebel Ali and Malaysia's Port Klang have also entered the top ten.

The busiest U.S. port, Los Angeles, ranks only 16th with 10.3 million containers handled, while Long Beach ranks 19th. Europe's largest ports, Rotterdam and Antwerp-Bruges, recorded 13.8 million and 13.5 million containers respectively, making them the busiest non-Asian ports. Tangier Med in Morocco is the only African port on the list, with no Latin American ports featured.
