Kazakhstan's Passenger Vehicle Imports Increased by Nearly 60% Year-on-Year, with China Accounting for Over Half
According to the italics website, citing the Kazakh website autoreport, from January to July 2025, Kazakhstan imported a total of 134,366 passenger vehicles (including new and used cars), which increased significantly by 59.4% compared to the same period last year.
The report pointed out that this year, the main sources of passenger vehicle imports in Kazakhstan are China, the United States, and Japan.
Top 10 major suppliers:
China: 94,606 vehicles (an increase of 247.5% year-on-year);
United States: 12,891 vehicles (a decrease of 29.3%);
Japan: 10,377 vehicles (a decrease of 11.2%);
South Korea: 6,411 vehicles (a decrease of 23.9%);
Russia: 5,912 vehicles (an increase of 217.9%);
Germany: 1,817 vehicles (an increase of 23.3%);
Canada: 605 vehicles (a decrease of 41.6%);
Mexico: 358 vehicles (an increase of 90.4%);
Slovakia: 250 vehicles (an increase of 257.7%);
United Kingdom: 218 vehicles (an increase of 79%).
Notably, during the reporting period, Kazakhstan imported only 3 passenger vehicles from Uzbekistan, while the country did not supply any vehicles to Kazakhstan during the same period last year.
In terms of exports, from January to July 2025, Kazakhstan exported a total of 683 passenger vehicles abroad. The main export destinations were Kyrgyzstan (240 vehicles), Belarus (104 vehicles), and China (100 vehicles).
