Source: Kazakhtelecom News Agency — Recently, representatives from Alash National Pedagogical University of Kazakhstan held talks with officials from Shaanxi Yiheshengfeng Industrial Group Co., Ltd. of China, reaching a consensus on constructing a modern student dormitory complex capable of accommodating 500 students.

According to information available, the new student dormitory will be located on Iwan Shukhov Street in Almaty. During the planning and design phase, the project fully considered the actual needs of contemporary student populations, featuring partitioned dorm rooms, dedicated study and leisure areas, dining facilities, reading rooms, as well as comprehensive public amenities and security systems.

The implementation of this project aims to fulfill instructions issued by the President of Kazakhstan regarding improving student accommodation conditions.

During the meeting, Dr. Bolat Tleubay, Rector of Alash University, signed a long-term cooperation memorandum with representatives of Shaanxi Yiheshengfeng Industrial Group Co., Ltd. Under the agreement, the company will serve as an investor in the construction of the student dormitory. The group’s representative highly praised Alash University’s academic strength and historical significance, noting that this project is one of several key strategic initiatives being undertaken by Kazakhstan’s first higher education institution ahead of its 100th anniversary.

Meanwhile, Alash University will continue advancing the modernization of existing student dormitories. This year, the university plans to carry out a full renovation of Dormitory No. 5, while design proposals for upgrading four additional dorm buildings have also been launched simultaneously.

Currently, Alash University operates 13 student dormitories. With the number of enrolled students increasing year by year, the university is gradually intensifying efforts in this area, focusing particularly on ensuring housing availability for students from outside the city, especially incoming freshmen.
