Phoenix Finance News, June 28-29, the "2025 China Enterprise Globalization Summit" was held in Shenzhen. The forum was hosted by Phoenix, with the premium series brand - Li of Snowflake as the chief sponsor, and jointly hosted by the China Enterprise Globalization Council. With the theme of "For an Open World", it aims to build a high-level platform for Chinese enterprises to exchange ideas, connect resources, and discuss rules during the deep restructuring of the global supply chain, systematically solving the challenges of going global and exploring the path of ecological win-win transformation.

Professor Gao Zhikai, Deputy Director of the Center for China's Globalization (CCG) and Chair Professor at Soochow University
Professor Gao Zhikai attended this forum, sharing his unique insights on topics such as Sino-US relations, free trade, and the tariff war, emphasizing that China resolutely defends free trade and believes that there is an inevitable peace between China and the United States.
Gao Zhikai stated that the United States is currently suffering from two nightmares. The first nightmare is the constant fear that China will surpass it. In fact, according to more than 200 objective data such as steel production and car production, China has not only surpassed the United States but also accounts for more than half of the global output.
Therefore, the United States no longer needs to dwell on this issue. From an objective perspective, China has already surpassed the United States in certain areas. In ten or twenty years, China may, as Elon Musk speculated, have an economy twice as large as that of the United States.
The second nightmare is that the United States is worried that after China surpasses it, China will dominate the world, imposing its ideology, political system, and behavioral norms on the United States, making the United States a second-rate country.
In response, Gao Zhikai said that although China was weak in the past, it is now relatively strong. Even if it becomes even stronger in the future, China will not seek hegemony. What China wants to be is a "virtuous ruler," treating all 200 countries around the world, whether big or small, equally.
