Putin's "shaken" North Korean troops: Their most important mission is NOT to fight on the front lines!

According to a report from Ukraine's Ministry of Defense Intelligence Service, by August 2026, 8,500 North Korean soldiers had already entered Russian territory and been deployed, organized into four combat brigades under Russia's "Northern" military group. Further North Korean forces are expected to enter Russia later, with numbers potentially reaching tens of thousands—roughly the size of an entire army group.

What few anticipated is that the primary role of these North Korean units is not to engage in brutal trench warfare directly on the front lines, but rather to be stationed along the northern Ukraine-Russia border, carrying out border security duties and filling the void in Russia’s border regions.

Last year, due to weak border defenses, Ukrainian forces suddenly launched an offensive into the Kursk region, seizing thousands of square kilometers of Russian territory, causing significant setbacks for Russia. With the arrival of North Korean reinforcements, Russia can now free up its border defense forces to redeploy them to the front lines.
