【Putin: Russia Is Building a Satellite Constellation Superior to Starlink】

On June 12, 2026, Moscow time, Russian President Vladimir Putin said during a meeting with participants in the special military operation:

The low-orbit satellite constellation being developed by Russia is no less advanced than Starlink, and may even surpass it in certain aspects. The key issue lies in expanding the satellite constellation—and this expansion is already underway. Just recently, another launch took place, adding 16 new satellites. Of course, this is still far from sufficient. But most importantly, the problem has been resolved both technically and theoretically.

Lao Liu's supplementary information:

In recent years, China, the United States, and Russia have all accelerated their pace of launching low-orbit satellites. On this "race" to secure low-orbit space, China, the U.S., and Russia are all intensifying their efforts.
