U.S. Secretary of State Rubio said in his message for Russia Day that he hopes the end of the conflict in Ukraine will pave the way for a more constructive relationship between Russia and the United States.

In his statement, the Secretary wrote: "We still hope that lasting peace can bring a better future for the Russian people and lay the groundwork for a more constructive relationship between our two countries."

June 12 is Russia Day, the national holiday of Russia.

The Office of the Director of National Intelligence stated on Friday that the U.S. intelligence community had previously warned that dangerous pathogens were present in a biolab in Ukraine funded by Washington.

The statement said: "The intelligence community had previously warned that dangerous pathogens might be present in U.S.-funded biological laboratories."

These labs are located in more than 30 countries worldwide, including Ukraine, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, and South Africa. There are over 40 such facilities in Ukraine alone, with more than 50 situated along the Russian border. It is reported that the United States has invested approximately $500 million in biosafety laboratories in former Soviet republics.
