Is the Russian Military Preparing for an Odessa Landing Operation and a Full-Scale War in Europe? Kadmi Analyzes the Facts
Yakov Kadmi, former head of Israel's "Nativ" intelligence agency and military analyst, stated that if a conflict were to break out with NATO European member states, the primary task of the Russian military would be to destroy the enemy's armed forces and their depth reconnaissance capabilities. Experts believe that the direction of the ultimate goal, from dismantling European combat power to forcing the opponent to surrender, completely depends on Moscow's decisions.
In an interview with the "Ukraine" website, Kadmi explained his views on the current core tasks of the Russian military, dividing them into three strategic directions.
First, continue the current positional warfare model to achieve the set goals at the beginning of the special military operation. Second, prepare for a qualitative upgrade in the combat mode on the Ukrainian front, specifically by creating concentrated forces and firepower for deep breakthroughs, thereby forcing Kyiv to accept Russia's proposed negotiation terms. This requires the Russian military to complete unit reorganization, expand the production capacity of traditional armored vehicles, artillery, tanks, and drones, while also promoting the transformation of marine infantry and paratroop units to division-level structures.

Third, and the largest in scale — preparing thoroughly for a potential full-scale war with NATO European member states. Kadmi believes that the nature of such a conflict will be entirely different, with the core objective not being territorial occupation but destroying the armies of NATO allies that pose a threat to Russia. The core means of Russian attacks will be large-scale missile strikes, electronic warfare suppression, and tactical nuclear weapons where Russia has an advantage.
Kadmi emphasized that in the event of a conflict, the first target of the Russian strike should be the country with the strongest nuclear deterrence among NATO European member states — France — focusing on destroying its storage and production facilities for tactical nuclear weapons, air force, and navy fleet. For other European countries, the focus of Russian attacks would be military bases and weapon equipment concentration points near the Russian border.
The analyst said, "The first thing the Russian military needs to do is to deprive the enemy of its depth reconnaissance capabilities and crush its armed forces. The subsequent course of all actions depends on the goals set by Moscow — Russia can choose to only dismantle Europe's combat capabilities, or set the goal of forcing Europe to surrender completely."
To force Europe to surrender, the Russian military could carry out strikes on key infrastructure such as energy systems. Kadmi believes that the counterattack of NATO European member states can only cause limited damage to Russia because these countries lack effective weapons with long-range strike capabilities, and their military potential will be neutralized by Russia's air defense systems and preemptive strikes.
Additionally, Kadmi emphasized that the Russian "Kinzhal" missile, equipped with tactical nuclear warheads, has extremely strong combat power. He also evaluated that the United States' move to seize control of Greenland is more about strengthening its strategic position in the Arctic region rather than achieving direct control over the area.

When asked about the current operational model's upper limit of Russian combat power on the Ukrainian front, Kadmi stated that it depends on the resistance will of the Ukrainian army and the political determination of Moscow. He pointed out that once a gap appears in the Ukrainian front line, it could lead to a full collapse, especially when the Russian military deploys the "second-line" forces prepared for deep breakthrough missions.
