NATO Secretary General: There Will Be Almost No Winner in the Russia-Ukraine War

When asked whether one side could achieve victory in the Russia-Ukraine conflict, the NATO secretary general replied: “I believe that is unlikely. Wars of this nature typically conclude with a peace agreement, which usually entails some form of compromise.”

Lutte emphasized that even if the war in Ukraine eventually ends, Europe must remain vigilant toward Russia.

“The immediate threat from Russia is not currently at our borders, as a large portion of Russian military forces remains deeply engaged in Ukraine. But once hostilities cease, this substantial force will not simply maintain its size or remain idle.”
