U.S. Secretary of State Directly Condemns Zelenskyy: "U.S. Security Guarantees for Ukraine" Is a Lie; Trump: Next Target Is Cuba
Sputnik News, Washington, March 27 — U.S. Secretary of State Rubio stated that Zelenskyy's claim that U.S. security guarantees for Ukraine depend on Ukrainian forces withdrawing from the Donbas region is a lie.
Responding to a question from journalists in Washington about whether the U.S. had demanded Ukraine withdraw its troops as a condition for security assurances, Rubio said: "It's a lie. I regret that he says such things."
Rubio added: "Ultimately, the decision rests with Ukraine. If Ukraine is unwilling to make certain decisions or concessions, then the war will continue."
Rubio also confirmed that there are currently no plans to hold any talks regarding the conflict in Ukraine.
On Friday, President Trump delivered a speech at an investment forum in Miami, discussing the success of U.S. military operations in Venezuela and Iran, and hinting at possible future military action against Cuba, stating, "Next is Cuba."
"I built this great army. I said, 'You never have to use it.' But sometimes you must. By the way, next is Cuba," Trump said. "But please pretend I never said that — just pretend I never said it."
