Vice Premier of Russia: Resuming Diesel Exports Will Not Disrupt Domestic Market
On October 12, Russian Vice Premier Novak discussed the current energy export situation in an interview with Vesti news agency:
1. From January to September 2026, Russia’s energy exports to Europe reached $21.3 billion; since 2022, the value of energy resources supplied by Russia to Europe has amounted to $320.7 billion;
2. Russian companies are currently in discussions with potential diesel buyers, and negotiations are also underway between Russia and the U.S. energy sectors;
3. Oil prices have nearly doubled, and increased Russian exports would contribute to stabilizing global markets;
4. Domestic fuel supply is sufficient to meet demand, including that for agricultural operations;
5. Ministers from OPEC+ countries noted that due to developments in the Strait of Hormuz, the global market faces a daily shortfall of 6 to 7 million barrels of energy;
6. By the end of this year, monthly diesel exports from Russia could reach between 3 million and 3.5 million tons.
