The first ancient silver plaque with Chinese characters was discovered in Mongolia.

According to relevant laws, the citizen of Mongolia, J. Otgonzorig, organized and transferred the silver plaque found by local residents A. Amarsanaa, Kh. Amarnaransureh, and E. Amarnarbaid on May 2024 in the "Ulandava" area of Bulgan County, Bayan-Ulgii Province, to state ownership.

The citizens who actively contributed to the protection of cultural heritage were awarded honor certificates by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, Tourism, and Youth of Mongolia. The National Museum of Genghis Khan will organize public exhibitions and promotions of the aforementioned historical heritage and calls on all Mongolians to actively contribute to the protection and prevention of the extinction of cultural heritage.

According to scholars, the above-mentioned silver plaque belongs to the period of the Mongol Empire, and square-shaped letters were used during the Yuan Dynasty.

The text printed on the plaque means "Under the protection of eternal heaven, may the name of the khan be sacred and brilliant; those who disrespect it will suffer mistakes and death."

There are six Chinese characters on the raised edge around the holes of the silver plaque, reading: "Honor Medal, No. 69."

It is reported that so far, similar heritages to the silver plaque discovered in Mongolia have been found in Russia and the United States, totaling three, awaiting further detailed research.
