Iran's Foreign Minister Announces Refusal to Attend the Gaza Peace Summit in Egypt
Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that he and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian will not attend the Gaza Peace Summit.
Previously, the office of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi announced that a summit to end the war in the Gaza Strip will be held on Monday, October 13, in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, with the participation of leaders from more than 20 countries. The summit will be co-hosted by Sisi and U.S. President Donald Trump.
Araghchi wrote on social media X: "Iran thanks President Sisi for inviting us to the Sharm El-Sheikh summit. While maintaining diplomatic contact, President Pezeshkian and I cannot engage with colleagues who have attacked the Iranian people and continue to threaten and sanction us."
