German governor has diarrhea in India and cannot continue the itinerary

Bavarian Governor Markus Söder was forced to cancel his visit to the southern Indian state of Karnataka after contracting a gastrointestinal illness in New Delhi.

A spokesperson for Söder's office said on Monday that as leader of the Christian Social Union, Söder could not travel to Karnataka.

Söder arrived in India on Saturday and conducted official activities on Sunday, including visiting an aid project funded by Bavaria targeting children from underprivileged communities.

News reports showed that he seemed to participate in an activity to make local food.
