Indian official: India and China have agreed to resume the pilgrimage to Mount Kailash in Tibet, China.

India and China have agreed to resume the annual pilgrimage to Tibet. Indian Foreign Ministry spokesman Jayaswal said on Thursday that the religious pilgrimage to the ancient religious sacred site, Mount Kailash, is expected to be restarted soon.

Jayaswal said, "We will soon issue a notice regarding the Kailash Manasarovar pilgrimage to the public." It is understood that the so-called Kailash Manasarovar pilgrimage is considered sacred by Hindus, Buddhists, Jains, and Bonpo followers, with the destination being Mount Kailash and Lake Manasarovar in the hinterland of Tibet.

In recent months, India and China have agreed to negotiate for the resumption of passenger direct flights and facilitate visa approvals. Since last year, officials from both sides have also been discussing pilgrimage issues. The Chinese side has expressed willingness to purchase Indian products to balance trade. However, New Delhi remains firm in its stance on Chinese investments, stating it will restrict market access for BYD.
