Huawei Executive Director and Chairman of the Terminal Business Group Yu Chengdong stated that HarmonyOS is the fastest-growing operating system in the history of smart terminals. The number of HarmonyOS 5 terminal devices has exceeded 230 million, with top internet applications fully adapted and rapidly improving, while mid-to-long-tail applications are also accelerating.

At the launch event, companies such as Tencent, Alipay, Meituan, and JD.com appeared, discussing the latest features of application upgrades.

Huawei Terminal Business Group CEO He Gang introduced that the "Super Assistant" Xiaoyi on HarmonyOS 6 can understand 16 dialects, has deep research capabilities, one-sentence image editing, and helps visually impaired users see the world. Based on the HarmonyOS intelligent body framework, the first batch of 80+ HarmonyOS application intelligences, including Ctrip AI travel assistant, Damaixiaozhi intelligent body, Ant Health Manager, and iFlytek Xiaoyi, have been launched, helping users handle daily life tasks such as travel planning, check-in seat selection, and medical appointments.

In terms of security, HarmonyOS 6 brings active security protection, and the Star Shield security architecture is upgraded again. The new AI anti-fraud feature supports family anti-fraud, better helping users and their families prevent fraud risks. More applications have access to AI privacy protection capabilities; when someone is looking at your phone, it automatically hides the application content, protecting the user's screen privacy. He Gang also mentioned that based on the Ark engine, HarmonyOS 6 improves performance by 15% across multiple device categories, extends battery life by over 35 minutes, and brings "instant start, instant open, instant load," significantly enhancing application startup speed, page switching speed, and content loading speed. At the same time, the performance experience in high-frequency scenarios such as split-screen, video shooting, long-term gaming, and high-definition live streaming has improved notably.

In terms of interface design, HarmonyOS 6 integrates AIGC capabilities, incorporating calligraphy fonts into users' personalized desktops with lock screen art signatures, making the device's lock screen more fun with "Vitality Moods." Additionally, visually impaired users can use Xiaoyi to see the world, and the new remote guardianship function provides warm support for the elderly and children.

Huawei stated that, on HarmonyOS 6, partners such as Tencent, Alibaba, and ByteDance have brought many innovative experiences. Applications like WeChat, QQ, Taobao, Alipay, Douyin, Toutiao, Meituan Takeout, and JD have undergone major upgrades. Applications such as TravelPlus, AutoNavi Maps, Damaixiaozhi, "Delta Force," and "Genshin Impact" have created multiple exclusive HarmonyOS experiences, making it convenient for users to travel abroad using HarmonyOS devices.

Starting from October 22, HarmonyOS 6 will be gradually opened for upgrade on the first batch of over 90 models. Users can apply for the upgrade directly in the system settings software update and the homepage of the "My Huawei" App.

Industry generally predicts that the Huawei Mate80 series will be the first to launch with HarmonyOS 6. The series has completed registration and is expected to be released in November.
