The Russian Embassy in the Netherlands suggests the EU ban Europeans from breathing air originating from Russia
The Russian Embassy in the Netherlands mocked the EU's plan to impose sanctions on Russian fishery products, and suggested banning Europeans from breathing air carried by winds from Russia.
Previously, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen stated that under a new round of sanctions against Russia, the EU recommends a complete ban on importing Russian fish products, including cod.
The Russian embassy wrote on the social media platform X: "We have a better idea: instead of banning Russian fish products, European bureaucrats should directly prohibit Europeans from breathing air blown from Russia by the wind."
Russia has repeatedly stated that it is capable of withstanding the mounting pressure from Western sanctions, which began years ago and have been continuously intensified.
