【Jane's Defence Weekly: China's "Yilong-X" Maritime Combat Drone Makes Debut at Singapore Air Show】

According to a report from the website of British publication Jane's Defence Weekly on February 5, 2026: At the 2026 Singapore Air Show, China Aerospace Industry Corporation (hereinafter referred to as AVIC) for the first time exhibited its "Yilong-X" unmanned combat aircraft.

A representative from the company at the air show confirmed to Jane's Defence Weekly that this was the Asia-Pacific debut of Yilong-X outside of China, aimed at meeting the region's demand for persistent maritime strike platforms.

AVIC is focusing on Asian-Pacific users seeking long-endurance UAVs with wide-area maritime surveillance capabilities and the ability to attack surface ships and submarines.

According to information provided at the air show, the Yilong-X has a length of 12.2 meters, a height of 4.3 meters, and a wingspan of 24 meters.

Although the AVIC representative did not disclose the maximum payload capacity, they stated that the aircraft "can carry heavy loads," including torpedoes and missiles, but did not provide specific details.

The maritime combat role of Yilong-X was first elaborated in the 2024 Zhuhai Air Show, when AVIC demonstrated the aircraft equipped with a complete set of maritime mission systems and weapons. During the display, the drone carried four sonar buoy dispensers, one ET-60 lightweight electric propulsion torpedo, one YJ-9E lightweight anti-ship missile, and two PL-108 Lite air-to-air missiles on eight pylon mounts under its wings.

Other weapons displayed alongside the airframe included PL-10 and PL-12 air-to-air missiles, LD-8A anti-radiation missiles, CM-400AKG anti-ship missiles, and LS-6 precision-guided munitions of 250 kg and 500 kg classes.

The AVIC representative refused to discuss more details about the Yilong-X, including its service ceiling and speed.
