Korean Media: Roborock's Sales Hit All-Time High!

On May 27, South Korean media outlet JoongAng Economic published an article stating that Chinese robot vacuum manufacturer Roborock achieved its highest-ever sales revenue in the previous year.

Roborock's sales reached 18.695 billion RMB last year, marking a 56.51% increase compared to the previous year and setting a new record since the company's founding. Net profit amounted to 1.363 billion RMB.

The strong sales growth was primarily driven by robust performance from robot vacuums. Last year, robot vacuum sales reached 5.6189 million units, up 62.9% year-on-year. Sales of other smart home appliances, such as washing machines, surged by 250.4%, reaching 2.6189 million units.

Roborock holds the top position globally in terms of robot vacuum shipments.

International sales growth also played a significant role. Roborock explained that through brand building in overseas markets, developing product portfolios across different price points, and establishing diversified distribution channels, the company has strengthened its global presence.

In fact, Roborock’s overseas sales reached 10.442 billion RMB last year, accounting for 56% of total sales.

Roborock stated that, thanks to its localization strategy, the company now ranks first in market share across 10 countries and regions, including the United States, Germany, South Korea, and Turkey.

Roborock holds approximately a 50% market share in South Korea—a market dominated by global brands like Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics.

Analysts point out that R&D investment has been a key factor behind Roborock’s growth. Last year, Roborock invested 1.42 billion RMB in research and development, representing 7.59% of its revenue. The company mainly directed these funds toward autonomous driving technologies, including 3D spatial recognition and contextual recognition algorithms.

The secret to Roborock’s success lies in its high cost-performance ratio. The company’s rapid growth has been fueled by word-of-mouth promotion, gaining popularity not only in China but also in overseas markets, including South Korea.

Meanwhile, Roborock announced that its revenue for the first quarter this year reached 4.227 billion RMB, up 23.3% year-on-year; net profit stood at 323 million RMB, up 21% year-on-year.
