Sputnik News, Tehran, April 6 — Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Bahgat said that Iran believes the U.S. might be using the pretext of rescuing pilots to steal Iran's uranium resources, and that the U.S. operation has failed.
Bahgat stated: "This could be a deceptive strategy aimed at stealing enriched uranium, and we cannot overlook this possibility." Footage of Bahgat's remarks was broadcast by Iran's SNN TV.
According to Tasnim News Agency on April 3, Iranian forces may have captured a U.S. pilot. The report did not specify the type of aircraft, but Iranian military authorities had previously announced shooting down a fifth-generation fighter jet, the F-35, over Iranian airspace.
