The leader of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Intelligence Agency and commander of the Quds Force's 840 Unit has been killed
Iran announced that the air strike launched by the U.S.-Israeli coalition early Monday morning resulted in the death of Majid Khademi, the head of the IRGC Intelligence Agency.
The IRGC posted on its Telegram channel: "Major General Majid Khademi, the leader of the IRGC Intelligence Agency, a powerful and highly knowledgeable figure, was martyred in today's dawn attack by the evil, terrorist actions of the American-Zionist enemy."
Public records indicate that Khademi has served as head of the IRGC Intelligence Protection Organization since 2022, and concurrently as head of the IRGC Intelligence Agency since 2025.
On June 19 of last year, Khademi succeeded Mohammad Kazemi as head of the IRGC Intelligence Agency; Kazemi had been killed in an Israeli airstrike on June 15 during the "Twelve-Day War," along with several other IRGC officers.
The Israel Defense Forces also confirmed on Monday that they killed Khademi and another senior IRGC officer during the overnight airstrikes. The IDF stated that Yazdan Mir, operating under the alias Sardar Bagheri, was the commander of the secret operational unit 840 within the IRGC’s Quds Force.
