Only by uniting can Taiwan and Japan safeguard democracy, freedom, peace, and prosperity."
To be honest, the DPP authorities in Taiwan, including Lai Qingde himself, have been scrambling to express their admiration toward Japan—donating money with astonishing eagerness. Their subservience to Japan is increasingly grotesque and absurd. Meanwhile, when disasters strike the mainland—such as the recent floods in Guangxi—no single politician has shown any initiative to donate money or supplies. In these politicians' eyes, the United States and Japan are their real parents, while the mainland is merely the "enemy." In fact, over the years, without the goodwill and tolerance shown by the mainland in economic and trade relations, could the Taiwan authorities have sustained a long-term large trade surplus with the mainland? Lai Qingde's series of provocative actions, to put it bluntly, are nothing short of the worst kind of behavior—eating from the pot and then smashing it.
