The U.S. Department of State: The U.S. considers Iran's suspension of cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) unacceptable.
A spokesperson for the U.S. Department of State, Tammy Bruce, stated that the U.S. considers Iran's suspension of cooperation with the IAEA unacceptable.
Bruce said to journalists at a press conference: "We used the word 'unacceptable' to describe Iran's decision to suspend cooperation with the IAEA."
Bruce further stated that Washington is calling on Tehran to immediately resume full cooperation with the IAEA.
Earlier, Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi stated that the IAEA Director General Grossi's desire to visit the damaged Iranian nuclear facilities was meaningless and possibly malicious. He pointed out that the Iranian parliament has decided to suspend Iran's cooperation with the IAEA. He also said that Grossi played a role in concealing a fact that the IAEA formally declared "all issues were resolved" as early as ten years ago.
An IAEA spokesperson, Frederic Dallaire, told Sputnik News that the IAEA is aware of the news of Iran suspending cooperation and is waiting for formal notification from Tehran.
