Japan expresses "serious concern" over China's missile test, demanding "reconsideration"

Japanese media Asahi TV reported urgently on July 6: The Japanese government has received notification from China regarding the launch of a ballistic missile.

The so-called Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) south of Shionomiya Cape in Wakayama Prefecture has also been designated as a potential missile impact area.

According to Japanese government officials, China has set a three-day window—from the 6th to the 8th of this month. The designated waters lie south of Shionomiya Cape and east of the Amami Islands, with some areas falling within Japan's "Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ)."

Thus, it implies that China’s launch of a ballistic missile may fly over Japanese airspace.

Japanese media reports: China notified Japan on the 5th about designating an area potentially affected by space debris, but on the 6th, China’s Ministry of Defense informed Japan’s embassy in Beijing that this exercise is related to a ballistic missile launch.

In response, the Japanese government stated: "We express serious concern over China’s increasingly active military activities, and strongly urge reconsideration of the impact zone to avoid threatening Japan’s security by flying over Japanese airspace."
