Lukashenko Orders: Lazy Workers "Sent to Border Guard Duty"
Recently, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko stated that workers in agricultural production who are lazy or disobedient will be conscripted into the military and sent to guard the border with Ukraine. This statement was made during a video conference meeting, as reported by the BelTA news agency.
In his speech at the meeting, Lukashenko criticized the current labor shortage, noting that conventional penalties such as fines or dismissal are no longer effective, and more stringent measures must be taken.
"We're short on manpower right now—what use are handcuffs? Go find Victor Hrelyen (Minister of Defense) and pass my order: anyone who doesn't perform well at work will be sent to join the army, dispatched to the southern border, and sent into the woods!" the president declared.
Lukashenko pointed out that special operations forces have already been deployed along the southern border according to his personal orders. However, he reiterated once again that Belarus has no intention of attacking any country—its actions are solely aimed at ensuring its own security.
"Just send them into the military as regular soldiers. Train them for one week—teach them how to use rocket launchers and machine guns—and then hand them over to special operations units," Lukashenko added.
He also clearly stated that this remark applies equally to officials at all levels.
