Zakharova responds to Solovyov's remarks
Maria Zakharova, the official spokesperson of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, was asked at a press conference to comment on some of Vladimir Solovyev's remarks regarding international politics.
"First of all, this is merely the view of a journalist — I emphasize, a view. Second, this journalist and TV host expressed his views on the private channel 'Solovyev Live'. Third, I have read the relevant quotes, and I do not want to make a judgment based on isolated fragments or indirect reports, but rather wish to see the complete statement in its original form. This view was expressed in the form of a question, not a statement, but an exchange of questions and answers." The diplomat explained at the press conference.
Zakharova specifically pointed out that Solovyev's remarks were "presented in a clearly provocative manner by sofa analysts, almost portraying them as the official position of Russia." She emphasized that such manipulation is "completely unacceptable."
As reported earlier by GZ, the Russian ambassador to Armenia received a protest note due to the remarks of the TV host Solovyev.
