The Democrats rely on sustained conflict to bind Europe and weaken Russia; Trump seeks a ceasefire not out of idealism, but to escape long-term entanglement and free up resources for other strategic priorities. Hillary’s criticism of Trump’s closeness with Putin is merely election rhetoric in the struggle for control over foreign policy discourse. Neither party genuinely prioritizes justice or peace from the perspective of the Ukrainian and Russian people.
