Poilievre made a tough statement:
"Foreign criminals involved in illegal hate incitement must leave immediately!"
On Saturday, Poilievre vowed at an Ottawa campaign rally that any foreigner engaged in illegal hate-mongering activities in Canada would be deported.
He specifically mentioned hate demonstrations and condemned arson, violence, and vandalism targeting schools and synagogues. "We will introduce stricter laws to combat racially or religiously motivated violent attacks and illegal demonstrations," he said.
On the same day Poilievre made these remarks, a large number of protesters flooded Parliament Hill in Ottawa for a massive demonstration.

Poilievre also emphasized that foreigners who entered on visitor visas but violated laws must "leave immediately." His statement is quite similar to Trump's approach to dealing with illegal entry and extreme speech during his administration.
In response to the Conservative Party's vow to "expel," netizens have engaged in heated discussions:
"I support him sending all illegal immigrants back to their home countries. We need our country to be safer."

"Well done, criminals and drug dealers should be expelled."

"I fully support this. If you shouldn't be here, leave or be expelled."

"Yes, lawbreakers must go."

"Yes, all Canadians support this."

At the same time, some netizens believe: "If they are legally residing and contributing to society rather than living off taxpayers, perhaps there wouldn't be much of a problem. If the immigration issue is handled properly, I have no objections to immigration."
Carney: Preparing for the Resurgence of the "Refugee Wave!"
CBSA Strict Enforcement!
In response to border pressure, Carney announced that if the Liberals remain in power, they will train 1,000 new border personnel and introduce high-tech equipment such as scanners and drones to enhance border enforcement. He emphasized that Canada and the United States must strengthen cooperation to deal with the rising tide of potential asylum applications.

According to the latest data from the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), the number of asylum applications at the Canada-U.S. border is rapidly increasing.
CBSA officials stated that based on the scale of refugee influx, they can deploy manpower to the most needed locations, upgrade infrastructure, such as installing temporary restrooms, and procure additional IT equipment and supplies to meet related needs.

A rental site near Saint-Bernard-de-Lacolle will be used as a refugee application processing center; simultaneously, a caravan will be rented at the Stanstead port on Highway 55 near the Quebec-Vermont border as a temporary waiting room for refugees during the processing period.
During a campaign event on Thursday, Liberal Party leader Mark Carney announced that if the Liberals are re-elected, his government will train 1,000 new border enforcement officers and invest in new equipment like scanners and drones to strengthen Canada's border security.

However, his announcement this time focused on combating drug trafficking, illegal firearms, and smuggling of stolen vehicles.
Carney stated: "We will dismantle and destroy criminal networks, strengthen the judicial system, and build a stronger and safer Canada."

To respond to the surge of illegal crossings in unguarded sections of the Canada-U.S. border, Canada and the U.S. extended the Safe Third Country Agreement in March 2023. According to the amended agreement, asylum seekers who first arrive in one of the two countries cannot apply for asylum in the other country, regardless of whether they enter through official ports of entry, unless they meet specific exceptions such as having immediate family members in the country.
After the amendment, the number of illegal crossers intercepted by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) has significantly decreased, from 14,663 in 2023 to 1,302 in 2024. In the first two months of 2025, this number was 369.
Meanwhile, Canada continues to send back ineligible asylum applicants to the U.S. As of April 4, 641 people have been repatriated in 2025, and 2,447 people were repatriated in 2024.
Canada's refugee backlog exceeds 280,000!
The Conservatives call out: Fraudsters must leave!
As of February 2025, the Immigration and Refugee Board (IRB) of Canada had 281,333 pending asylum cases, a more than 50% increase compared to the same period last year. From January to March, Canada received 29,520 new asylum applications, more than one-third of which came from road arrivals from the U.S.-Canada border.

The Liberals have yet to announce specific measures to address the "U.S. deportation wave," while the Conservatives reiterated that "the system has collapsed" and called for the identification of genuine refugees versus fraudsters.
Poilievre said: "If someone is truly in danger and applies for asylum according to the rules, Canada should protect them. But if they are fraudsters, they must leave."
