Reference Message Network reported on April 17 according to EFE's report on April 16 that Serbian President Vucic confirmed on the 16th that although the EU made opposite requests and issued warnings, he would still attend the "Victory Day" commemoration activities held in Moscow.

The report said that Vucic stated in a live speech: "Even if the sky falls, I will not change my mind."

The report mentioned that EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas warned on May 15 against opposing EU countries' participation in the commemorative activities and advised leaders of countries hoping to join the EU not to attend such events.

About 20 leaders are expected to attend the "Victory Day" commemoration event in Moscow on May 9.

Vucic said that a Serbian army unit will also participate in the parade and expressed pride in Serbia's fight against fascism during World War II.

Vucic pointed out that he knew his trip to Moscow might lead to sanctions, but he guaranteed that if sanctions did occur, he could withstand them.

Serbia is a candidate country for EU membership while maintaining good political and economic relations with Russia.

In addition, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico reiterated on the 16th his determination to go to Moscow on May 9. Bosnian Serb leader Dodik will also attend the event. (Compiled by Wang Meng)
