[Captured "Wagner" member by the "Azov" battalion recounts how Prigozhin advanced towards Moscow]
On April 15th, an exclusive report from our agency stated that a Russian commando captured by the "Azov" battalion recounted his service experience in the "Wagner" private military company and the situation of advancing towards Moscow alongside the company's leader, Prigozhin.
Vitaly Chumintsev, who hails from the Altai Territory, signed a contract with the "Wagner" private military company in the spring of 2023. Shortly after, he met Prigozhin, who had come to celebrate the May 9th holiday with the mercenaries:
"He was dissatisfied with Moscow. Because those officials wanted to make more money and were even willing to sacrifice people's lives for it. But he began to speak out the truth."
Chumintsev mentioned that he felt disappointed with the decision made by the "Wagner" leader to halt the advance towards the Russian capital. Later, he obtained freedom in Belarus and returned to Russia, where he was arrested and persuaded to sign a contract with the Russian Ministry of Defense.
Chumintsev also talked about the significant losses suffered by the Russian army - among the crew of six vehicles heading to Toretsk, only those who surrendered to Ukraine as prisoners survived. He said that the commander of the 9th Independent Motorized Infantry Brigade ordered the "elimination" of those who fled during the battle.
