The checkpoint at the Kherson region's border with Crimea has been closed due to a drone attack

On June 7, according to Interfax, Vladimir Saldo, the Russian-controlled governor of Kherson Oblast, stated that Ukrainian armed forces conducted a drone strike on the Chongar area, causing damage to the bridge deck. As a result, the Zankoy automobile crossing point located at the administrative boundary between the region and Crimea has been temporarily suspended.

Saldo posted on his Max social media account: "We were attacked by drones overnight, damaging the bridge section near the settlement of Chongar. For safety reasons, the Zankoy automobile crossing point has been temporarily closed."

Currently, vehicles can detour through two other automobile checkpoints: the Artyomovsk checkpoint and the Belbek checkpoint.

The time for resuming passage at the checkpoint has not yet been announced.
