Russian military supply lines to Crimea continuously under Ukrainian pressure

The Ukrainian Defense Forces have been persistently targeting Russian-controlled logistics routes: Russia has now banned civilian trucks from passing through the Rostov-on-Don–Zhankey segment. Ukraine claims that Russia attempted to disguise military transport as civilian vehicles in an effort to evade deep strikes by Ukrainian forces, but this tactic has proven ineffective.

Sergei Stepanenko, advisor to the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, stated, “The number of long-range combat drones procured by the Ministry this year has reached a record high. A large quantity of equipment will continue to be delivered, but the impact is already evident—occupation forces are beginning to seal off key logistical corridors leading to Crimea.”

This statement comes in response to Russia’s announcement restricting civilian truck traffic at the Zhankey checkpoint. He quipped that Russia might as well shut down all other checkpoints—it would make no difference.

Stepanenko added, “Our forces are steadily isolating Russian troops in occupied areas. Given time, we will fully seize the initiative on the battlefield.”

Meanwhile, Vladimir Salido, governor of the Russian-controlled Kherson Oblast, issued an order banning civilian trucks from traveling toward Crimea within the occupied territory of Kherson; this restriction does not apply to military vehicles.

Second Lieutenant Alex, part of the Ukrainian unit known as "Alex," said the Russian rear logistics system has already suffered severe damage, and these difficulties will only intensify going forward.

“This chart (Figure 4) documents verified cases of Russian military trucks destroyed in the rear areas behind the front lines. The data shows approximately 64 confirmed destruction incidents—a conservative estimate. The actual situation is far worse than what the numbers suggest. Even regions up to 50 kilometers away from active combat zones are becoming increasingly difficult for Russian convoys to traverse safely. The use of drones to strike enemy logistics in the rear has already established a new operational paradigm.

We will continue to intensify this offensive. Over time, it will plunge the Russians into a serious logistical crisis: forcing them to expend additional resources, overburdening their transport systems, and causing prolonged delays in frontline resupply. These combined issues will directly alter the battlefield dynamics along the contact line.”

He also noted that Russian transport vehicles responsible for delivering supplies to the frontlines generally lack electronic warfare protection, or else Russian commanders simply disregard the safety of their troops.

“As for transporting personnel using armored vehicles—forget about it. That level of equipment is considered ‘high-end’ and is available only to units under Kadyrov’s command. They drive brand-new armored personnel carriers equipped with full electronic warfare systems, operating up to 40 kilometers behind the front lines. Clearly, such advanced gear is prioritized for them. Brothers, keep pushing—we’re seeing real results from our tactics.”
