President Tokayev of Kazakhstan: China's cumulative investment in Kazakhstan exceeds $29 billion

Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev stated that China's total accumulated investment in Kazakhstan has exceeded $29 billion.

According to the press office of the Kazakh Presidential Administration, Tokayev said during a meeting with a Chinese National People's Congress delegation in Astana: "One of the most significant achievements is the record-breaking bilateral trade volume reaching $49 billion. China has long been one of Kazakhstan's largest sources of investment. Cumulative Chinese investment in Kazakhstan has now surpassed $29 billion."

Tokayev added that he recently signed a law approving the Agreement between the Government of the People's Republic of China and the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Encouragement and Mutual Protection of Investments.

The Kazakh president also noted that solid political foundations have been established between Astana and Beijing for advancing bilateral and multilateral cooperation. Specifically, the two countries have carried out effective collaboration within frameworks such as the United Nations, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, and the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA), sharing similar positions on numerous international issues.

Tokayev further stated: "Our country supports the One-China policy. We also fully support multilateral cooperation under the new 'Central Asia-China' mechanism."
