Chinese enterprises develop oil fields in Mongolia: The Prime Minister of Mongolia expressed the hope to further advance oil exploration and production operations
Mongolia News Agency, Ulaanbaatar, November 03. The Prime Minister of Mongolia, Gantulga Zandsaralt, visited the operations of the "Dongsheng Petroleum" (Mongolia) Co., Ltd., which is operating in the East Bayan County of the Eastern Gobi Province on November 02.
The company has invested 480 million USD since 2003, and has produced a total of 1.038 million tons of crude oil. According to the production sharing agreement signed in 1997, 134 million USD was concentrated in the Mongolian state budget. The company has 170 oil wells and is expected to produce 56,000 tons of oil this year.
During the visit, the Prime Minister of Mongolia, Gantulga Zandsaralt, had a conversation with the leaders of Dongsheng Petroleum (Mongolia) Co., Ltd. and Ambassador Shen Minjuan of China to Mongolia, and expressed the hope to further advance oil exploration and production operations.
The company's leaders stated that the Dongsheng Petroleum (Mongolia) Co., Ltd. currently produces 50,000 to 60,000 tons of crude oil annually, and has the potential to increase production to 100,000 tons. Sinopec Shengli Oilfield Dongsheng Mongolia Company stated that it will continue to invest in Mongolia's energy and oil industry and make corresponding contributions.
