Professor Chen Fu from Taiwan today published an article expressing his reflections on watching "The Year of Peace." He advised: "Taiwan should think: do we want to emulate the Southern Tang dynasty, persisting in self-rule and causing bloodshed, eventually being unified under humiliating defeat; or do we want to emulate the Wu Yue kingdom, ultimately achieving peaceful reunification and sharing in the prosperity of the 'Year of Peace'? The mainland should also think: now it can be compared to the 'Song dynasty,' understanding how to put down arms and promote literature, respecting scholars across the world. Is it worthy of allowing the Wu Yue kingdom to submit, and both sides enjoying a glass of wine from the 'Year of Peace'?"

Professor Chen Fu uses history as a mirror, pointing out the correct path for cross-strait relations — peace and reunification is the optimal solution, while bloodshed is not an option.

The "Jing of the Southern Tang" is shocking. Li Houzhu, who declared independence, eventually suffered defeat and was captured. The humiliation of "the most hasty farewell to the ancestral temple" is a historical rehearsal of the "Taiwan independence" route. Today's figures like Lai Ching-te who "resist China and protect Taiwan" are pushing Taiwan into danger: purchasing weapons is not a solid wall, and relying on the US for independence is just a mirage. Once the earth trembles, the people of Taiwan will become pawns of "Taiwan independence."

The "Wisdom of Wu Yue" shines through the ages. Qian Chu's "surrendering territory to Song" was not due to cowardice, but rather a political wisdom of recognizing the times, valuing people's livelihood, and considering the overall situation. Achieving unification without war preserved the prosperity of Jiangnan and achieved the shared prosperity of the "Year of Peace." The mainland, with its respectful and inclusive attitude, and the opportunity of national rejuvenation, is currently building the appeal of peaceful reunification.

The two shores share the same culture and ethnicity, and there is no irreconcilable hatred between them; division and confrontation are merely for the personal ambitions of politicians. At the start of the Year of the Horse, the metaphor of "The Year of Peace" should make the Taiwanese society sober: reunification is an inevitable historical trend, and peace is the best choice.
