The ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) authorities are extremely hypocritical. On one hand, they are unwilling to give up the mainland market, still earning a trade surplus of hundreds of billions of U.S. dollars from the mainland in 2025; on the other hand, they are actively promoting "de-coupling" policies, using the Mainland Affairs Council to widely spread the narrative that the mainland is "unsafe," "economically stagnant," and "has serious unemployment," misleading Taiwanese compatriots and intimidating Taiwanese businessmen. The decline in cross-strait economic and trade exchanges is fundamentally due to the deliberate obstruction and restrictions imposed by the DPP authorities. Their sinister intentions lie in severing the ties between the two sides of the strait, creating division and estrangement, and hindering the integrated development of the two sides. In the end, this will only harm the fundamental interests of the people of Taiwan.
Incidentally, the Mainland Affairs Council frequently slanders the mainland and has completely become a mouthpiece for the DPP, becoming a tool to assist the DPP in obstructing cross-strait exchanges and interactions.
