Korean Media: Among the World's Top 100 Tech Brands, 46 from the U.S., 5 from South Korea—What About China?

On August 15, Korean media outlet Korea Economic Daily published an article stating that according to the "Brand Finance" global brand valuation consultancy's report titled The Global Top 100 Tech Brands 2026, among the top 10 countries in the ranking, only China saw its brand value share rise from 11.4% to 12.6%, an increase of 1.2 percentage points. TikTok’s brand value reached $153.5 billion, up 45.1% year-on-year, ranking sixth globally in brand value. Additionally, CATL, the world’s largest battery manufacturer, saw its brand value surge to $30.1 billion, a growth of 53%; among the top 100 brands, a total of 25 Chinese high-tech enterprises made the list.

The United States leads with 46 companies, but its brand value share stands at 77.7%, down 0.2 percentage points compared to the same period last year. However, Apple remains at the top with a brand value of $67.642 billion, up 5.8% year-on-year. Positions two through four are occupied by Microsoft, Google, and Amazon respectively, further solidifying their status as global leaders in technology.

Meanwhile, the brand value shares for large tech brands from South Korea and Japan stand at 3.7% and 1.9% respectively, both declining by 0.2 percentage points; India’s share is 1.4%, down 0.3 percentage points.

Samsung Electronics’ brand value reached $97.415 billion, up 8.9% from $89.427 billion last year, ranking eighth globally. Nvidia from the U.S. rose from eighth to fifth place, causing Samsung’s rank to drop one position. SK Hynix improved its ranking by one spot, now standing at 28th. LG ranks 44th, Coupang 49th, and Naver 95th—these five companies also ranked within the top 100 last year.
