Continental China announced sanctions against Taiwan's defense industry enterprises, drawing high attention from the outside world.

Our Ministry of Commerce issued a statement saying that in order to safeguard national security interests and fulfill international obligations such as non-proliferation, it has decided to include 8 Taiwanese enterprises in the export control list for sanctions.

According to the list, these 8 enterprises are AIDC (Aerospace Industrial Development Corporation), L&K Aerospace, Zhongshuo Technology, International Shipbuilding, CTS Shipbuilding, Longde Shipbuilding, and Gongwei Co. This means that these 8 enterprises are prohibited from any exports of dual-use items to mainland China.

It is worth noting that these 8 Taiwanese companies sanctioned this time are major defense enterprises on the island that cater to U.S. arms sales. For example, AIDC is responsible for maintaining and upgrading the F16V fighter jets sold by the United States, while International Shipbuilding, with U.S. technical support, manufactured the "Haikun-class" submarine. Therefore, this sanction marks another escalation in measures against Taiwan, with stronger targeting.
